Club News

Back in the Day: We still remember when Insomnia’s own beats rolled through Berlin’s streets on a Zug der Liebe parade float. In the early years of Zug der Liebe (German for "Train of Love"), our club proudly joined the protest-parade multiple times. Unfortunately, in recent years we haven’t been able to bring our own wagon to the parade. But make no mistake: we still stand 100% behind Zug der Liebe’s goals and spirit. This unique techno-demonstration isn’t just about partying – it’s about advocating for compassion, inclusion, and social engagement while dancing your heart out . Those ideals resonate deeply with us at Insomnia, where freedom, community, and love are core values every night. (The motto for this 10th anniversary year says it all: “10 Years of Love – Together for a Fairer Future.”) We’re here for it, even if we’re cheering from the sidelines this time.
Unleashed.Berlin: Bringing Insomnia’s Vibe to the Parade
As fate would have it, Insomnia will still have a presence on the streets this year – through our friends at Unleashed.Berlin. Unleashed.Berlin is one of our resident party collectives that regularly transforms Insomnia into a sex-positive techno wonderland. This Saturday (August 30, 2025), the Unleashed.Berlin crew will be out at Zug der Liebe, dancing and protesting through the city on our behalf. They’re beyond excited to march in the parade’s 10th edition , grooving alongside the sound trucks and tens of thousands of fellow ravers for a good cause.
But by early evening, duty calls: at some point before the parade’s final stop, the Unleashed.Berlin crew will bid farewell to the march and hop on the U6 subway heading to Alt-Tempelhof – destination: Insomnia . Why the rush? Because they need to get back to the club to start setting up for the night’s festivities. Think of them as the Cinderellas of the Parade: leaving before the clock strikes (in this case, before the last truck reaches the end) so they can prepare an unforgettable event for all of us.
From Street to Club: Party at Insomnia
After the parade, Unleashed.Berlin invites everyone to an party at Insomnia Club (kicking off at 22:00). This isn’t connected to Zug der Liebe in any way, but it’s perfectly timed for parade-goers who want to keep the energy flowing with a sex-positive twist . So if you’re craving an open-minded dancefloor, you know where to go. Expect two distinct dancefloors: one upstairs pumping peak-time techno, and a more intimate downstairs dungeon space for harder, darker beats . The DJ lineup is truly global, featuring artists from four different continents to keep you moving till morning . As always at Insomnia, the atmosphere will be inclusive, LGBTQIA+ friendly, and fetish-forward – a place where you can be yourself and let your desires roam free. We’re essentially taking that powerful “love and unity” vibe from the streets and amplifying it on the dancefloor all night long.
From Zug der Liebe to Insomnia
By the time the Zug der Liebe parade winds down (the last trucks usually stop around 21:00–22:00), you’ll want to start making your way to Insomnia for the afterparty. Luckily, it’s easy to get from the parade’s end point (Oranienstraße 125 in Kreuzberg) to our club in Tempelhof:
? By U-Bahn: Walk to the U6 Kochstraße/Checkpoint Charlie station (a 10–15 min walk from Oranienstr. 125). Take the U6 line south toward Alt-Mariendorf, and get off at Alt-Tempelhof – one stop after Tempelhof (don’t be that person who hops off too early!). The ride from the city center to Alt-Tempelhof is only ~9 minutes. From Alt-Tempelhof station, Insomnia is just directly by the exit (address: Alt-Tempelhof 17-19).
? By Taxi: A direct taxi or rideshare from the parade finale to Insomnia will take about 15–20 minutes. But becouse much people will be goining in the same time it can be hard to find a taxi so U-Bahn is easier.
Tip: Insomnia’s doors open at 22:00, and the parade should be wrapping up by then, so you won’t even have to leave early. Enjoy the final beats of Zug der Liebe, then head over around 21:30–22:00 – perfect timing to slide into our party as it starts.
And one more heads-up: remember to pack your party outfit before you hit the streets! Unleashed.Berlin enforces a "Sexy techno - Fetish - Kinky" dress code to maintain its sex-positive, hot atmosphere . Street clothes (hoodies, jeans, sneakers) won’t cut it at the door. So have some Kinky, latex, leather, or lingerie ready in your bag. Trust us, after a day of marching for love and solidarity, slipping into something daring and fabulous will feel like the perfect transition into the night. ?
